Workshop Closure beginning 12th September...

The last of this year's exhibition is due to come down week beginning 12th September 2016. After that all of the studios need to be reconfigured for the coming year.

Workshop staff will be playing a key role in making this happen, so the workshop will be closed for a maximum of 5 days beginning Monday 12th September 2016.

We do not envisage having to close for the entire week, so please check back for an update if you would like to visit the workshop next week!

North Campus Cafe has reopened!

Great news for the new academic year, North Campus Cafe has reopened after extensive building works @ George Porter over the last 12 months.

This means we now offer somewhere convenient to relax and eat away from the workshop.

Workshop Closure

The workshop will be closed for servicing and maintenance:

Friday 19th August 4 pm - Tuesday 30th August 11 am

Hand tools and drill kits will be available from the Arts Tower Print unit.

Closure for Graduation

The Workshop will be closed for Graduation preparations from 10:30 Tuesday 19th July until 13:30 Wednesday 20th July. Thank You!

Week beginning Monday 27th June

The Lasers and Machine shop will be closed for around 3 days beginning next Monday.

Due to persistent issues with the flooring in the laser room the the covering for the entire area needs to be removed and replaced. Obviously this means that the area needs to be cleared for this to happen.

Bookings have been blocked for the next 4 days (Friday - Wednesday) to allow this to happen. As soon as the work is completed we will be able to re-open laser bookings.

The shop and hand tool workshop will be unaffected.

Exhibition Week (13.06 - 17.06)

Preliminary plans are for the workshop to be closed the week leading up to the exhibition.

This is to allow staff to fabricate new structures and set up boards.If everything runs smoothly we will be able to re-open, but please do not leave anything important for this week.

I strongly advise any model making or base fabrication that you need for the exhibition is done next week!
